Madeleine Eklund is 9 years old and lives in Sweden.

I am hearing impaired. In my cochlea there are hair cells and some hair cells have been broken. I live in Sweden together with my family. The street where I live is called Frövigatan. In Sweden the nature is beautiful.

My family is my mother Jenny, my father Glenn and my younger brother named Andreas and my 3 pets. My fish called Alex and 2 guinea pigs named Ebba and Filippa and they are very, very, very cute.

Sometimes I must clean their cage once a week and then I must feed them and give them hay and everything they need.

I think I have been hearing impaired since I was born.

I think it is no fun to be hearing impaired. I have many friends at my school, but not where I live.

If you are hearing impaired you can play with your guinea pigs. I have no favourite toy but I have my guinea pigs. I am in third grade. I go to a school named Johannelund. When I begin in the fourth grade I will go to a new school named ‘Nya Broskolan’ together with my friend Josefin.

I train diving together with my friend Josefin. I like reading about ‘Ronja Robber’s Daughter’ (Swedish children’s book character).

I have two cousins named Emil and Engla. I always play together with Emil and Engla. Outside we play the Bronze Age.
