Erdal - Sweden

Erdal Kursun is 10 years old and lives in Sweden.

I live in Alby on Alhagsvägen in Stockholm. Sweden is nice.
There are 5 people in my family. My father’s name is Abdullah and my mother’s name is Guley.
I have an older sister named Ebru and a younger brother named Mert.

Read about Erdal's father's experiences with having a hearing impaired son.

 Erdal's father's story

I have 6 friends. Their names are Hasan, Huseyin, Seytullah, Mistafa, Umut and Sinan.

I was hearing impaired when I was born. It was good to be hearing impaired because I learned very much in my school in Alvik. I don’t like to have hearing aids. I don’t like to have them in my ear and that I must try to find them when they are lost.

My hair cells are broken so I can’t hear as much as the normal people that are not hearing impaired can.

I have relatives in Turkey. I usually spend my summers there. My cousin’s name, who is also hearing impaired, is Ismail. I have been swimming in the Black Sea. When I turn eleven I will get a motorcycle. I like being in Turkey. My best thing to do in Turkey is to sun bathe.

It is also fun in Sweden but it is warmer and nicer in Turkey.

My best author is Astrid Lindgren. She has been writing 100 different books. They have been translated into 80 different languages. So I believe that you also have read some of them.
