How to take care of your earmoulds

It is okay for the earmoulds to get wet. You can wash them in warm water around once a week or whenever they get dirty.

Once you have washed the earmoulds it is very important to dry them.

You can dry the outside part with a cloth.

Dry the inside by blowing the water out of the canal.

You cannot use your mouth to blow it dry, because the air from your mouth is moist. Instead, you must use an earmould blower, which sends dry air into the canal.

If your earmould has a vent, remember to blow the water out of there as well.

Remember that the tube between your hearing aids and the earmould should be changed around twice a year – when it becomes hard or discoloured and loses its flexibility.

Along with your parents you can visit your hearing care professional to change the tubing, because he has the tools to do it properly without damaging your hearing aids or your earmoulds.
