Once the doctor is sure that you need hearing aids, he will tell you and your parents which kind would be the best for you.

If you do need hearing aids, the doctor will start by taking an impression of your ear. He will do this by putting a soft material (like putty) in your ear. It doesn’t hurt, and it only has to be in your ear for a few minutes.

The mould that he gets from this impression will help him to make an earmould that is comfortable and nice to wear and that fits your ear exactly.
