There can be many reasons for hearing loss:
- You may have suffered from a lot of middle ear infections
- You may have had infections such as meningitis, mumps or measles
- You may have had an accident and hurt your head
- Hearing loss can also be hereditary, which means that someone else in your family also has a hearing loss. It doesn’t necessarily have to be your parents; it could be a more distant relative.
Even though doctors and audiologists are clever, they can still have difficulty finding the reason for your hearing loss.
Remember that hearing loss does not go away when you grow up. Even as a grown up you will still have your hearing aids.
